My approach to working with animals is a unique blend of formal education, hands-on experience, and intuition. My background in psychology, counseling, teaching, and dog training—combined with my past work as a behavioral interventionist—has given me a strong foundation for understanding behavior, motivation, and learning in both humans and animals.

At the heart of my training philosophy is the belief that trust, communication, and emotional well-being are essential for a strong human-animal bond. I focus on creating a relationship based on cooperation, mutual understanding, and respect, ensuring that every animal I work with feels safe, calm, and happy. I also incorporate a holistic approach, considering not just behavior but also emotional and physical well-being, stress reduction, and the overall energy of the environment.

My Training Approach

Instead of relying on commands or dominance-based techniques, I use various evidence-based methods rooted in psychology, animal behavior science, and intuitive communication. My training is always tailored to the individual dog, their personality, and their unique needs.

Positive reinforcement dog training is a humane and effective method that focuses on rewarding desired behaviors rather than punishing unwanted ones. By using rewards such as treats, praise, toys, or play, animals are encouraged to repeat behaviors that lead to positive outcomes. This approach strengthens the bond between human and animal, creating a relationship built on trust and cooperation rather than fear or intimidation. Positive reinforcement also helps build confidence, reduce anxiety, and make learning enjoyable for the animal. Since behaviors that are rewarded are more likely to be repeated, this method fosters long-term behavioral success while ensuring that training remains a positive experience for both the pet and the owner.

Relationship-Based Training (RBT)

RBT emphasizes building a positive, cooperative relationship between dog and human. The foundation of this approach is trust and emotional connection, which makes training more effective and fulfilling for both you and your dog.

Key principles of RBT:

  • Ensuring basic needs (physical, mental, and emotional) are met before training begins.

  • Setting the dog up for success by managing their environment and minimizing stressors.

  • Using motivation (food, toys, play, praise) to encourage learning and engagement.

  • Understanding canine body language to improve communication.

  • Replacing unwanted behaviors with positive alternatives rather than using punishment.

Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT)

BAT is especially useful for dogs struggling with fear, anxiety, or reactivity. It helps them develop confidence and make better choices in stressful situations.

Core techniques of BAT:

  • Environmental control to reduce overwhelming stimuli.

  • Gradual desensitization through repeated, positive experiences.

  • Functional rewards (rewarding behaviors that naturally reduce stress).

  • Teaching dogs to make independent, calm choices rather than reacting with fear or aggression.

Psychology-Based Training Techniques

Many of my training techniques are influenced by behavioral psychology, including:

  • Classical Conditioning: Helping dogs form positive associations with people, places, and experiences.

  • Operant Conditioning: Using rewards and consequences to shape behavior.

  • Positive Reinforcement: Encouraging desirable behaviors through rewards like verbal praise, food, toys, clickers, and play.

I also draw from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a science-backed teaching method that uses positive reinforcement to bring about meaningful behavior change. With ABA principles, I introduce simple, achievable tasks and gradually build up to more complex behaviors, ensuring that the learning process is clear, consistent, and rewarding.

Multi-Species Training & Animal Communication

My experience working with a variety of animals—including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals—has deepened my ability to understand behavior across species. I use my skills in intuitive animal communication to strengthen relationships between humans and their animal companions, helping owners truly ‘hear’ what their pets are saying.

Training isn’t just about teaching commands—it’s about deepening the relationship between you and your pet. By understanding their perspective and working with their natural instincts, we create a life built on mutual trust, respect, and joy.

A Spiritual & Intuitive Connection to Animals

As an intuitive animal communicator, I believe our pets are not just companions but teachers, guides, and energetic mirrors. I incorporate mindfulness, moon cycles, and intention into my training, helping pet parents form a deeper, more spiritual connection with their animals. This holistic approach considers not just behavior but also the emotional and energetic well-being of both the animal and their human.

Education, Teaching & Online Learning

With my background in teaching and counseling, I am passionate about making training accessible and empowering pet owners with knowledge. Through online courses, private sessions, and educational content, I you with the tools needed to create harmony and understanding in your home.

Every dog is different, which is why I prioritize an individualized approach. I take the time to:

  • Identify each animal's unique personality, strengths, and motivations.

  • Observe their body language and emotional state to ensure they feel secure.

  • Communicate in a way that is clear, consistent, and fair.

  • Adjust training techniques based on their comfort level and progress.

Patience is key—training should never feel stressful or overwhelming for the animal. By creating a calm, structured environment and letting the pet set the pace, I help build confidence, reduce frustration, and foster lasting behavioral change.

My goal is not just to train animals but to empower pet parents with the knowledge and tools to communicate effectively, nurture deep bonds, and create a fulfilling, lifelong partnership with their animal companions.
