Cats and witches have a lot of history. Most of it being pretty dark. For thousands of years, cats have been thought of as mysterious creatures with supernatural powers. They've been worships as gods and viewed evil and the devil in physical form. Even today, cats, especially black cats, are still thought of and associated with magic.
